At time of marriage Robert William was a Flying Officer in the RAF and Mary Thornton was a Pilot Officer in the WRAF, both were (a) stationed at Halton Camp, Buckinghamshire and (b) residing at Halton House, RAF Halton. They were married by the RAF Chaplain R Mitchell. Their respective parents’ occupations were “printer” (William James Ramsdale) and “army” (George Arthur, believed to be the Scots Guards). The marriage was witnessed by Alma Serman and John Butler.
